Leila & Shrek, part I

Splish, Splash

Today it was hot enough to pull out our new baby pool. I thought Leila might have fun splashing around. She LOVED it! She crawled around the pool, out over the side, and then back in and even got her face wet. No crying here even though she did get some water in her mouth. This bodes well for swim lessons, which we start soon.

Baby's First Easter

Leila's First Easter turned out to be a fabulous day after gloomy weather in the morning. She enjoyed going through the new toys in her Easter basket at home. Is it me or does she look like she is posing for the camera at only 8 months old?

We spent the morning at church and then went to my parent's for lunch. Leila enjoyed her first Easter egg hunt with Cousin Sara and had many fun gifts from Nana and Pops. What a lucky girl!

We took pictures with the Easter Bunny the previous weekend with Leila's friends Ryan and Grant. Aren't they cute! Leila did great with the creepy Easter Bunny but burst into tears when we tried to get her to take a picture with Chicken Little. Thanks Sarah for the pics!

Bluebonnet Baby cont.

We received the proofs from our portraits in Brenham and we are really pleased. I hope Patrick thinks it was worth the drive, ha. What stands out from the trip for us is how all Leila wanted to do was eat the bluebonnets. I think she snuck a few past us.

Bluebonnet Baby

Last Sunday we drove to Brenham with some of the DMF families to take pictures in the bluebonnets. The photographer has only released a few proofs but they are AMAZING! Here is our princess with some of her closest friends: Cole, Ryan, Leila, Cannon and Grant. Aren't they adorable?? We missed Carter and Kylie and hope they can catch up with us next year.

Leila has been very busy. She now crawls everywhere and pulls up on everything. It is fun to look at the world from her perspective--everything is a new adventure! She loves other children and dogs, especially doggies who lick her fingers and toes. She wants to feed herself and loves to try new food, as you can see.

I am very fortunate that Kelly & April, two of my closest friends since as long as I can remember, both had babies recently as well. April's son Gray is now 5 months old, and the trio is complete with the birth of Kelly's son Luke last month!

I don't want to forget Leila's best friend, Avery. Her mom Cassie is one of my closest friends and she and Leila share the same birthday, August 3!

In February we ventured to the Lazy J Ranch and here is a picture of my mom, "Nana", holding Leila with her cousin, Sara. They are 6 weeks apart.
